Alex Rybakov – Episode 53

Alex was ranked #1 in the country by Tennis Recruiting Network his junior & senior years, and went on to star at TCU. At TCU, he was the Big 12 Freshman of the Year and Conference Player of the Year as a senior, in addition to being named an All-American multiple times. Listen here.


Alex goes into detail about his junior tennis development journey. His parents were both tennis pros (his dad once coach Andre Chesnekov [ATP career high #9]), who primarily coached him through his junior career. Alex spent time at the USTA Player Development and shares his insights into his comrades from those years including Tommy Paul, Reilly Opelka and coach Diego Moyano. Alex also explains why he chose TCU and tells us why Coach Roditi is such a legend among college coaches. Alex is continuing to work professionally with TCU assistant coach, Devin Bowen.

Alex Rybakov clinches the winning point to upset Texas A&M on the Frogs’ final home match.

In his final home match at TCU, Alex clinched the match for the Horned Frogs defeating Hady Habib 7-6 6-7 6-3 to give TCU a 4-3 victory over #8 ranked Texas A&M.
